I can’t tell you all the times I’ve been harassed.
Or because I’m pretty, they think they can grab my ass.
Isn’t it sad that the social norm is girls getting followed to their hotel door?
He says “I got this part you should audition for,” but that part involves your knees dropping to the floor.
Look, I’m fed up with it
yeah, Me too!
Keep it going, tell me what you been through?
I don’t wanna worry bout a night at the bar… dude hitting on me trynna “Walk me to my car”
Or that groping on my breast wasn’t going too far
Or that these events won’t leave that permanent scar
Look at your cards, it’s time to play your ace!
Don’t tell me I should put a smile on my face
If I’m alone, doesn’t mean I want to go to your place.
Dont tell me that I’m beautiful while playing with my hair
Or tell me it was my fault for what I chose to wear
Stand up women, it's time to have a voice
Don't you think it's time you had a choice?
About your body, legislation
We’re half the population
And we've never had a female president
Or half of congress
Or a government that didn't want to stop us
To voice our interests, our needs
Care for our bodies, our children
Allocates funds properly,
Why are we a special interest?
We birth the men and teach them their ABCs
But we got nothing to show, they don't care for you or me
It's time to make a change, put women into office
Ain’t nothing that the men can do or say to stop us
If you wanna change things, I’ll stand by you
If you’ll fight Lysistrata, then we’ll fight too. (x2)
